This rod pushing and pulling unit is used for introducing rods through empty or occupied conduits. The strong hydraulic driven cable feeder is able to force a high push and pull with its long steel chains equipped with neoprene profiles. The special strong rod of 15 mm in selectable in lengths between 300 to 400 m, guarantees a very high pushing stability. The reel for the rod and the length measuring counter are included in the pushing unit, but the rod itself has to be ordered by the wished length. If blockages or damages are suspected in the ducts the use of a red detectable rod with copper conductors is recommendable. This enable the duct line to be followed by a detector and to find the blockades, see table below.
The pushing unit can be mounted on a trailer either with canvas cover or with hard box or on any other vehicles. Details see below.
This pushing unit is either for fix mounting on one of the trailer either with canvas cover or with hard box, or is mounted on a base frame. The unit can work independent stationary or be pulled into the trailer to work as a mobile device. The reel and the length measuring counter for the rod are included, the selected length between 300-400 m of the rod has to be ordered separately, see table below.
To work with the unit on base frame without trailer, the 4 outriggers have to be retracted and the whole unit must be secured against a pull or push of at least 250 daN.
This version presents the following advantages:
The pushing unit can easily be pulled out or into the trailer without mounting work.
Afterwards the trailers can be used for any other transports.
The pulled out unit can provide the same performance without the trailer.
The complete unit can be mounted on different other platforms.

Trailer with canvas cover (flat bed trailer). Aluminium platform gate, to rise on the right side and on the rear by pneumatic springs. These protect personnel from weather and humidity.
Trailer with hard body box (flat bed trailer). Box made 17 mm thick Plywood, inside and outside coated by white GFK. To rise on the right side and on the rear by pneumatic springs. These protect personnel from weather and humidity. Mounting the pushing unit as above mentioned.
Both trailers are equipped with a straight drawing bar with overrun brake and a ball coupling and two rear outriggers. Each mounted device can be dismounted from the trailer and be used individual for any other work.

The spare rods are delivered as rings tied off with cable ties.
There is a high and dangerous spring tension when opening the ring.
For safety reasons we do not supply 15 mm rods as rings.
For winding-in 15 mm rods into empty reels a special machine is needed.
Therefore the winding-in process can only be done at the Vetter premises.
