Nowadays, the cable blowing of standard fibre optic cables of all lengths has become an everyday task for many cable layers. To this end, appropriate cable blowing methods have been developed for almost all occasions. In order to better utilise the capacity of ducts 50 already in the ground, second or even third cables are increasingly being additionally blown-in.

The floating cable installation has shown itself to be highly efficient in sections of pipe for which an intermediate shaft is not possible over distances of several kilometres, e.g. in tunnels or pressure shafts. In this way, lengths of up to 10 km and more can easily be floated-in, even with conventional cable blowing equipment, with the assistance of water.
