Company Vetter - History

1970 Herbert Vetter founded the company for cable laying devices. The first products focussed on overhead line construction, which was still an active area in those days. Soon afterwards, cable was increasingly laid in the ground or in pipes. Products for underground cable laying were therefore increasingly in demand.
1972 Beginning of the cooperation with renowned Swiss winch factory, Plumettaz SA., which at the time was the only company in Europe to manufacture capstans. Out of this cooperation, in which new product groups for the entire cable laying industry are constantly being created, arose the two leading companies Vetter and Plumettaz.
1980 The transformation to Vetter GmbH Kabelverlegetechnik took place, together with the relocation to larger premises.
1982 Introduction of employee participation, nowadays with verifiably great success.
1986 Introduction of a modern computing network.
1988 Beginning of the development of glass fibre cable laying technology, at the time with the still unique, but already very precisely working cable capstans. This technology was used in Germany to pull the first glass fibre cable in Berlin.
1992 Introduction of tension-free cable jetting technology, which today is known around the world as CableJet injection technology.
1992 Introduction of seminars for cable layers of electrical cable and glass fibre cable laying technology, which over the years became pioneering, in particular for today’s highly developed fibre optic cable network technology.

2005 Beginning of the cooperation with the German-Spanish cable reeling machine factory Loimex SA in Barcelona. Loimex was a former partner of Temeter, the company we purchased. 2019In May, in the course of developing the organisation, we introduced the established approach to the inspection and further development of existing processes, the so-called “Mindful Process Management”, or MPM for short. MPM intervenes more deeply than CIP and places the three pillars of process development, process management and process culture on the test bench. These three areas are not only subject to a one-off target-actual comparison but also sustainably evolved by MPM.
